Hello there! Welcome to the Casual Kitchen, my name is Stuart.
At the time of writing this I’m 29 years old, living in London and spending my time working as a designer and project manager.
So why blog about food?
It’s quite simple really, I love cooking. Whether it be a simple poaching of eggs or an elaborate dinner party, I enjoy it more than any other activity. Cooking and baking allows me to have a creative outlet that’s coupled with endless possibilities for experimentation. Best of all, the final results are often delicious.
Initially I started this blog back in 2014 so I would have a log of the recipes I’ve made over the years. But now I use it to track my progression. To look back and see how far I’ve come with my skills and understanding as a home cook.
The name ‘Casual Kitchen’ stems from my idea of cooking, to keep it casual. I believe food needs to be simple, without barriers and the needless complications. That’s why the recipes you’ll find here will range from really simple dishes like a seared steak through all the way through to crowd pleasing bakes with the faff taken out of it.
All of the content you find here is my own creation, even down to the design and development of the site. For photography I shoot on a Canon 550d with a 50mm f/1.8 lens or my iPhone.
